Decarbonization in Focus at B3

CCR has been included for the 14th consecutive year in the Efficient Carbon  Index (ICO2) by B3, which recognizes publicly traded companies with the best  practices in greenhouse gas emissions reporting. The company is part of a  select list of 64 organizations from different sectors of the economy that joined  the ICO2 portfolio from January to April 2025. To join the index, companies  must be among the top 75% with the least emissions relative to their revenue.  CCR has achieved other milestones in its decarbonization journey, such as  being the first company in the infrastructure and mobility sector to have targets  approved by SBTi.

Recovery of Mined Areas

CBA | Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio has received the first Environmental Recovery Declaration for mined areas  for environmental conservation in the state of Minas Gerais, issued by the State  Foundation for the Environment (FEAM). The document certifies the complete  restoration and recovery of areas used by CBA for bauxite extraction in  Descoberto municipality, in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais. “This is a  clear example that our mining operations go hand in hand with environmental  and rural activities,” says Christian Fonseca de Andrade, CBA’s mining  manager.

Advancements in Decarbonization

The year 2025 has already started as a milestone for decarbonization in Brazil.  With the regulation of the carbon credit market and the hosting of COP30 in  Belém (PA), the country gains prominence in global discussions on climate  change and sustainability. Fabio Cirilo, VC’s Eco-efficiency and Energy  manager, shared in an article about the advancements and trends in Brazilian  industry decarbonization, how the company has been acting in this scenario.
